Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Diamond Jubilee

She has pledged to dedicate herself anew to the service of her subjects. Yesterday February 6, 2012 marked Queen Elizabeth 60 years on the throne with a visit to Lynn Town Hall, Norfolk. Queen Elizabeth II who is the second longest reigning monarch in British history, took over from her father, King, George VI in 1952 at the age of 26.

------------------------------46th edition of the National Youth Day
will be celebrated on Saturday 11 February 2012. Ahead of the event, preparations have intensified nation wide. Some of the activities include essay writing competition, match pass practice. In Yaounde, the celebration will take place at the May 20th Avenue. The event will be chaired by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education Dr Bidoung Mkpatt .

------------------------------National Youth Forum opens today
The National Youth Forum opened this morning by the Prime Minister, Head of Government and a host of government Ministers. About 1,500 youths are expected to participate at the 1st edition of the National Youth Forum. For two days, the youths will brainstorm on the challenges and prospects surrounding their socio-economic and professional integration and make recommendations to the government. The forum will take place today Tuesday 7 February 2012 at the Yaounde Conference Centre.
