The Minister of Communication, René Sadi, successfully defended the ministry’s 2026 budget before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly on November 28, 2025. The approved budget will support key initiatives, including increasing inclusive media content, strategic communication for social development, and institutional support in the communication sub-sector, as well as promoting Cameroon’s image.

The 2025 budget has a consumption rate of 96%, with expenses managed by the Ministry of Finance. Minister Sadi outlined plans for 2026, which include supervising communication activities during electoral processes, extending the Virtual Information Agency to Divisional Delegations of Communication, establishing a press agency, and finalizing the National Strategy for Social and Behavioral Change.
Other priorities for 2026 include advocating for increased support for privately owned media, covering key events, and improving working conditions for ministry staff.
