IWD2023: Minister René Emmanuel SADI reaffirms commitment to promote equality

The Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi joined the women from his ministerial department to commentate concluding activities marking the 38th  edition of the international women’s day celebrated under the theme:  “An inclusive digital world: innovation and technologies for gender equality”.

The Minister of Communication congratulated the ladies for representing the ministry in all earmarked activities for this year’s celebration. He reassured the women that  he will ameliorate their status as he is aware of their daily challenges

The International Women’s Day is not just a formality but a necessity…I have taken a personal engagement to be an advocate of gender equality in MINCOM by ensuring women have their rightful places.  Women can only win this battle with support from men.”  Minister René Emmanuel Sadi acknowledged

Prior to this, ladies of the Central Service of the Ministry of Communication marked their presence at May 20th Boulevard to take part in the march past.

The amazons of the Ministry of Communication led the fourth wagon of the march past. This wagon also constituted the Ministries of Culture, Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Tourism and Leisure, Sports and Physical Education as well as affiliated institutions.

MINCOM ladies were applauded as they walked past the May 20th Boulevard in their majestic steps and beautiful outfits, under the watchful eyes of the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Professor Marie-Thérèse Abena Ondoa amongst other  dignitaries.

On behalf of ladies of the Ministry of Communication, the Gender Focal Point, Mme Essama Elizabeth thanked Minister René Emmanuel Sadi on his efforts in promoting gender equality in the Ministry of Communication following the recent appointments at the central and devolved services which witnessed a remarkable presence of women and the resources he put in place to ensure a successful women’s day celebration.

The day ended with a lot of fun and merrymaking and the sharing of a common meal.
