MINCOM launches International  Summit on AI and the Media

The Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel SADI, in his capacity as Representative of the President of the Republic presided over the inaugural session of an international Summit on ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Media’, organised by the African Union of Broadcasting at the Yaoundé Conference Centre.

The Minister of Communication reiterated that AI is for everyone, thus media men should not be indifferent. Despite the enormous benefits, AI equally has its challenges, consequently it has to be embraced with caution.

It should be noted that the conference to run from March 4-6, 2024, regroups participants from 43 African countries whose collaboration will lead to a distinctive African stance on AI,  which shall be culled in a declaration to be made public at the end of the three days.
