The Head of the European Union Delegation to MINCOM
The Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel SADI, held a productive meeting with H.E. Mr. Jean-Marc CHÂTAIGNER, Head of the European Union Delegation to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, at his office this July 14, 2025. The discussion centered around key topics, including support for the press and civic education in preparation for upcoming elections.
A notable outcome of the meeting was the European Union’s plan to support Cameroon in combating disinformation through a project set up with Canal France International, in collaboration with the International Federation of Journalists and the Cameroonian NGO Eduk Media. This initiative aims to block hate speech and promote media integrity.
The Ambassador assured Minister SADI of the European Union’s technical support, which includes, training for Journalists, awareness and sensitization on critical issues and promoting informed decision-making
The meeting highlights the commitment of both parties to work together on key issues, including media development, electoral processes, and economic growth.
