Government hands over FCFA 40 billion AFCON Equipment to CRTV

The Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi, has officially handed over audiovisual equipment, acquired by the government for the 2021 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), to CRTV. The equipment, valued at FCFA 40 billion, includes OB vans, radio and TV studios, and VAR paraphernalia, among others, and was handed over to CRTV Director General, Charles Ndongo, by the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The Head of State decided to yield the equipment to CRTV after the successful production of international signals and professional coverage of AFCON 2021. The Minister urged CRTV to ensure proper management and maintenance of the equipment, highlighting its value.

“This is a huge acquisition by the state. This ceremony was organized to officially handover these audiovisual equipment to CRTV. I have asked the GM and his team to take care of the equipment because it is expensive and somewhat unique in Africa” Minister Sadi told the press

Prior to the handover, CRTV’s General Manager had already established a structure to manage the equipment.
