“The main objective of this Forum is to ensure that CRTV remains the leading broadcaster despite fierce competition.” This was the message from the Minister of Communication and Chairperson of the CRTV Board of Directors, René Emmanuel SADI, as he closed the 2026 CRTV Programme Forum in Yaoundé.

Held from 21–22 July 2026 at the CRTV National Radio premises under the theme “Reinventing Public Media for Audience Engagement, Digital Impact and Financial Strategy,” the forum brought together media professionals, academics and digital content experts to examine the future of Cameroon’s public broadcaster.The forum also highlighted the need to leverage emerging technologies to produce compelling content for audiences across digital platforms.
Expressing satisfaction with the quality of discussions, Minister SADI commended the recommendations presented by CRTV General Manager Charles Ndongo, following deliberations on editorial content, programme management, production, broadcasting, sustainability and digital transformation.
Participants recommended audience-focused programming, expanded co-production, increased promotion of national languages, adoption of a digital-first broadcasting model, improved digital archiving and better coordination in the coverage of State events.
Reaffirming Government’s commitment to CRTV’s modernisation, Minister SADI announced plans to accelerate the corporation’s digital transformation through the establishment of a modern digital newsroom and editing suites, stressing that these reforms are essential for CRTV to maintain its leadership in an increasingly competitive media landscape.
