On Friday, 11 September 2026, the Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel Sadi, received in audience His Excellency Sylvain Riquier, the new Ambassador of France to Cameroon. Discussions focused on the communication and media landscape, the transformations brought about by digital technology and artificial intelligence, issues relating to public access to information, the regulation of the communication sector at the international level, as well as challenges related to employment, training and youth.
A career diplomat, Sylvain Riquier was appointed, by Presidential Decree of 7 August 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Cameroon, succeeding Thierry Marchand. A former student of the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA) and a graduate of the École nationale des chartes, he has held several diplomatic and administrative positions throughout his career, notably serving as France’s Ambassador to Comoros in 2021.
Diplomate de carrière, Sylvain RIQUIER a été nommé, par décret présidentiel du 7 août 2025, Ambassadeur extraordinaire et plénipotentiaire de la République Française au Cameroun, en remplacement de Thierry Marchand. Ancien élève de l’École Nationale d’Administration (ENA) et diplômé de l’École Nationale des Chartes, il a exercé plusieurs responsabilités diplomatiques et administratives au cours de sa carrière, notamment en tant qu’Ambassadeur de France aux Comores en 2021.
