On 18 September 2026, H.E. Félix MBAYU, Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of the Commonwealth, received in audience Mr. LI JIANGHUA, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon.
During the audience, the Chinese diplomat handed over the Chinese and English versions of the draft texts governing the functioning of the World Organisation for Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence (OMCIA). The related Agreement was signed on 16 July 2026, on Cameroon’s side, by Mrs. Minette LIBOM LI LIKENG, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, during her mission to Shanghai. To date, 38 countries have signed the text.
Mr. LI JIANGHUA also announced the visit to Cameroon of Mrs. WANG Chunying, President of China EXIMBANK, from 23 to 25 September 2026. This visit illustrates the strength of Cameroon–China relations, elevated by the Heads of State of both countries to the level of a Global Strategic Partnership
