IWD 2026: Women of MINCOM in the spirit of the celebration

As part of activities marking the grand finale of International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, the women of the Ministry of Communication (MINCOM) made a remarkable appearance during the ceremonial parade at Boulevard du 20 Mai, before the First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal Biya, members of government, and other distinguished guests.

After the parade, the women of MINCOM gathered at the ministry to share a meal offered by the Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel SADI, in a warm and convivial atmosphere marked by karaoke and other performances. The celebration crowned a week of activities including workshops on women’s mental health, career development, and the role of the law in addressing gender-based violence.

Speaking on the occasion, Essama Elizabeth, Technical Adviser No. 2 and Gender Focal Point of MINCOM, commended her colleagues for their commitment and thanked the ministry’s leadership for its support, while calling for greater female representation in leadership positions.

The Minister of Communication congratulated the organizing committee and all the women of the ministry for their dynamism, assuring them that their concerns would be given due consideration.

This year’s celebration once again highlighted the value and immense potential of the women of MINCOM in contributing to the ministry’s mission.
